Does silver medallion reset every year?

Delta has four tiers of elite status: Silver, Gold, Platinum and Diamond. You can earn status by flying and spending enough within a single calendar year, and once earned you'll keep it through the following calendar year.

Yes, Delta Silver Medallion status (and all other Medallion tiers) resets every year based on the calendar year cycle. In 2026, your status is determined by the Medallion Qualification Dollars (MQDs) you earned between January 1 and December 31 of the previous year. On January 1st of each year, your "counter" for the next year's status resets to zero. However, the status you earned remains valid through the end of that current "Medallion Year" (which typically runs through January 31st of the following year). For example, if you earned Silver status in 2025, you will enjoy those benefits throughout all of 2026. To keep it for 2027, you must meet the MQD thresholds again during the 2026 calendar year. Delta has removed the "Miles" (MQM) and "Segments" (MQS) requirements in recent years, so in 2026, your loyalty progress is tracked purely by your financial spend with the airline and its partners.
