Delta Sky Priority is not the same as TSA PreCheck. However, it offers many of the same benefits, and in some cases more, than TSA PreCheck. While TSA PreCheck is only available in the US, Delta Sky Priority also includes faster security lanes in foreign countries.

Sky Priority does not allow you to "skip" TSA in the way that programs like TSA PreCheck or CLEAR do. Instead, Sky Priority is an airline-specific benefit (offered by Delta and its SkyTeam partners) that provides access to dedicated security lanes at participating airports. These lanes are often shorter than the general standby lines, allowing you to reach the TSA officer faster. However, once you reach the front of the Sky Priority lane, you are still required to follow all standard TSA screening protocols, such as removing your shoes, light jackets, and electronics from your bag. In contrast, TSA PreCheck is a government-run program that allows you to keep these items on or in your bag. In 2026, many frequent flyers find that the "best of both worlds" is to have both Sky Priority and TSA PreCheck; this allows you to use the shortest available line at the airport while also enjoying the expedited physical screening process once you arrive at the X-ray machines.
