Does staying at Disney hotel guarantee park reservation?

It's important to note that guests currently need a Disney Park Pass reservation to visit Magic Kingdom Park, Disney's Hollywood Studios, Disney's Animal Kingdom and EPCOT, in addition to valid admission. In other words, a Walt Disney World hotel reservation does not guarantee entry to the parks.

As of 2026, staying at a Disney Resort hotel (at either Walt Disney World or Disneyland) no longer requires a park reservation for most date-based tickets, but for those who do still need them (such as Annual Passholders or non-date-based tickets), staying on-site does not guarantee a reservation if the park is already at maximum capacity. However, Disney manages their inventory to prioritize hotel guests, so it is extremely rare for a resort guest to be unable to get into a park. Furthermore, in 2026, Disney has largely "sun-setted" the reservation requirement for the majority of standard vacationers. The biggest "guarantee" of staying on-site is actually Early Theme Park Entry, which allows resort guests to enter any park 30 minutes before the general public every single day. This "head start" is much more valuable than a reservation guarantee, as it allows you to ride top-tier attractions like Seven Dwarfs Mine Train or Space Mountain with minimal wait times before the crowds arrive. Just remember that you still need a valid park ticket linked to your "My Disney Experience" account to utilize any resort-based entry benefits.
