Does SwissPass cover chocolate train?

On operation days, the chocolate train has 3 different departure times. This route is fully covered by the Swiss Travel Pass (Flex) and GA travelcard.

The Chocolate Train (Train du Chocolat) is a specialized "premium" excursion rather than a standard commuter line, so it is not fully covered for free by the Swiss Travel Pass. Instead, pass holders are required to pay a surcharge or a special "reduced rate" to participate in the full experience. As of the 2026 season (running May to September), Swiss Travel Pass, Eurail, and Interrail holders typically pay around CHF 59 to CHF 69 for the package. This fee covers the specific Belle Époque or scenic train segment from Montreux to Montbovon, the subsequent bus transfers to the Gruyères cheese factory and the Maison Cailler chocolate factory in Broc, as well as the actual entrance fees and tastings. While the "transportation" part of the route is technically on the Swiss network, you cannot simply board this specific themed train without a pre-booked reservation and the associated supplement, which covers the specialized guiding, morning coffee, and chocolate-themed treats served on board.
