Universal Orlando Operating Hours During the off-season, parks may be open as few as 8 hours (9 a.m.–5 p.m.). At busy times (particularly holidays), they may operate 8 a.m.–11 p.m. Volcano Bay is open anywhere from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the off-season to 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. during the summer.

The stores will stay open for as long as there are people buying things. They don't ever kick you out. We've gotten some great pictures later at night by waiting around, but we've never stayed to be the last people in the park.

The Hogwarts castle light show times begin at dusk to park close. Typically, nighttime lights shows begin around 7:15 PM, or 8:15 PM depending on Daylight Savings Time. Because of Daylight Savings Time they can start as early as 6:45 PM.

We've visited many times in summer and noticed crowds do seem to thin out a bit in the evening as people are going to dinner, leaving with little ones or leaving to change and come back for clubbing. We're not early birds, so we tend to arrive around 11 or 12 and stay until closing.

Generally speaking, Universal Orlando Resort is less crowded mid-week, when schools are in session, and during non-holiday stretches. Early admission to Universal Studios in Orlando is another way to avoid crowds.
