Most trails in Zion Canyon remain open during winter but some trails, such as Weeping Rock, Emerald Pools, Riverside Walk, and Angels Landing, may have areas that see little sun so be wary of icy patches. You may find snow and ice accumulation on trails as you head out of the canyon, so traction aides are recommended.

This trail is extremely dangerous during icy or snowy conditions. Check conditions before you hike and prepare accordingly. If parking at the Grotto and along the Zion Canyon Scenic Drive is full you may need to park at a nearby trailhead, or return later when parking is available.

Zion is a small park and 2-3 days is plenty for a stop on a road trip or a long weekend vacation, but this park is so beautiful and unique no time is too long. (Also if you plan too long Bryce Canyon is right next door for a day trip!)
