How big can you be to ride Harry Potter?

Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey™: Must be 48? (122 cm) tall.

For the flagship attraction Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey (found in Universal Studios Florida, Hollywood, and Japan), there is a strict minimum height requirement of 48 inches (122 cm). Regarding body size and weight, there is no official "maximum weight," but the ride uses a specialized overhead restraint system that must be able to click into a safe locking position for the ride to operate. This particular ride is known for being somewhat restrictive for guests with larger frames, particularly those with broad shoulders or large midsections. Universal provides test seats at the entrance of the attraction, which allow guests to check the fit discreetly before entering the queue. Generally, guests with a waist size of 40 inches or more may experience difficulty fitting into the seats. The ride vehicles are "robocoaster" arms that move in 360 degrees, and the restraint system is designed to keep you secure through high-speed tilting and diving maneuvers. If you are concerned about fit, the test seat is a highly recommended first stop to ensure a comfortable and safe experience.

There is one decent drop near the beginning of the ride. Official stats about its height or length are unknown (Universal remains mum on a lot if its ride specs), but estimates put it around 30 feet tall. (The big drop on Disney World's Splash Mountain, by comparison, is approximately 50 feet.)

Keep in mind there are no “weight restrictions” on any of Universal's theme-park attractions; instead, it comes down to how your unique body dimensions fit inside each ride's restraint system. Two people may weigh the same, but one will fit and the other will not — which is why the test seats are so important.

Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts is a 3D motion simulator ride that includes short roller coaster sequences. The carts mildly spin between screens, as well. *Spoiler alert: There is a small drop at the beginning, but you can't see how far down it goes, which could trigger motion sickness.

It's obviously a very well made ride, but DON'T go on it if you suffer motion sickness or are at all anxious. I felt very sick and disorientated a minute or so in, which wasn't helped by the ride suddenly stopping and rendering us stuck for a few minutes.
