Ain Dubai (Arabic for "Dubai Eye") is the world's largest and tallest observation wheel, standing at a staggering height of over 250 meters (820 feet). To put its size in perspective, it is nearly double the height of the London Eye (135m) and significantly taller than the High Roller in Las Vegas (167m). The wheel features 48 luxury cabins, each larger than two double-decker buses parked side-by-side, with a total capacity to carry up to 1,750 passengers simultaneously. The structure was built using 11,200 tonnes of steel—about 33% more than the amount of iron used in the Eiffel Tower. Each of the wheel's spokes is longer than a professional football pitch. However, visitors in 2026 should note that despite its record-breaking size, the wheel has been closed indefinitely for "enhancements" and technical issues since March 2022. While it remains a massive and iconic fixture of the Bluewaters Island skyline, it is currently not operational for rides. It serves as a monumental backdrop for light shows and drone displays during major city celebrations.
