How can I go to Disneyland for free on my birthday?

Tickets to enter Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park must be purchased for all visitors ages 3 and up. However, be sure to pick up a complimentary birthday button at City Hall in Disneyland Park or at Guest Services in Disney California Adventure Park.

As of 2026, Disney does not offer free admission on your birthday; the famous "Everyone Wins on Their Birthday" promotion ended many years ago. To enter the park for free, you would need to use a Disney Gift Card (perhaps gifted by others), use accumulated Disney Rewards Dollars from a Disney Visa card, or be a Guest of a Disney employee who has "sign-in" privileges. However, Disney still makes birthdays special through free "incidentals." Upon arrival, you should visit City Hall or Guest Relations to pick up a complimentary "Happy Birthday" button. Wearing this button often leads to "magical moments," such as Cast Members giving you a free dessert at a sit-down restaurant, being moved to the front of a line (rare, but it happens), or getting a special shout-out during a parade. Additionally, if you sign up for the Disney Rewards or specific restaurant newsletters (like Earl of Sandwich in Downtown Disney), you may receive coupons for free treats or discounts that can be redeemed on your birthday.
