The water may be frozen — and please do not go out on the ice — but the expanse generates a snow-globe-like experience. The wet and sometimes icy weather does typically require a 4-wheel or all-wheel drive vehicle to navigate the Alpine Lake roads but nothing compares to a snowy-silent night.
