How do I add my TSA PreCheck number to my United boarding pass?

You can also update existing reservations with your TSA PreCheck number. Go to Edit Traveler Information in the Manage Reservations section on the website, at an airport kiosk or in the United app. To add your PreCheck number to your United MileagePlus profile, log in and view your personal information.

Adding your TSA PreCheck number to your United boarding pass is a straightforward process. Here are the methods, from easiest to most direct.

Best Method: Add it to Your United MileagePlus Profile (Permanent Fix)

This ensures your PreCheck number is automatically attached to every future reservation.

  1. Log in to your United account on the United website or mobile app.
  2. Go to your MileagePlus profile (usually under your name/account menu).
  3. Look for “Secure Traveler,” “TSA PreCheck,” “Known Traveler Number (KTN),” or “My Profile” > “Personal Information.”
  4. Enter your Known Traveler Number (KTN) and confirm your date of birth and name exactly as they appear on your TSA PreCheck documentation.
    • Crucial: The name on your United reservation must match the name on your TSA PreCheck membership exactly. Even a middle initial vs. full middle name mismatch can cause issues.
  5. Save the changes.

For existing reservations: When you add your KTN to your profile, it should automatically flow to any upcoming trips within a few hours. If it doesn’t, you can manually add it to each reservation (see below).
