How it works
- Open your app. Tap to open the app on your mobile device.
- Choose your own adventure. Click on Where to? then tap + next to the destination box to add stops at any point before or during your ride.
- Change on the go. Add, change, or remove a stop from the on-trip feed.
If you have multiple stops or have to change your destination mid-trip, don't worry! When this happens, the final fare to be charged will differ from the upfront fare quoted at the start of the trip. We recommend to add all your destinations before ordering a car.

Requesting stops at drive-thrus or convenience stores Riders can add stops in their journey through the Uber app before and during the trip. Uber says riders can add up to two extra stops along the route, but if a stop lasts more than three minutes, the passenger will be charged more, Insider previously reported.

While there is no official number as for how long a rider can keep the driver waiting at a stop, I like 5 minutes. 5 minutes is the amount of time a driver will wait at the initial pickup before a rider is considered a “No Show”, so 5 minutes is a good number for stops.
