To ensure your Uber receipts correctly reflect Value Added Tax (VAT) for business or tax purposes in 2026, you must set up a Business Profile within the Uber app. To do this, go to "Account," then "Wallet," and scroll down to "Ride Profiles" to add a business profile. During the setup, you will be prompted to enter your company name, business email, and—most importantly—your VAT Registration Number. Once this information is saved, Uber will automatically include the VAT breakdown on the PDF invoices sent to your business email after every trip taken on that profile. In many European and Middle Eastern markets, Uber is required to charge VAT on the service fee or the total fare, and having your VAT ID on the receipt is the only way to legally reclaim those costs for your business. Note that you cannot "add" VAT to a personal ride after it has already ended; you must select the Business Profile as your payment method before requesting the ride. If you are a driver, you manage your VAT settings through the "Tax Information" tab in the Uber Driver dashboard.
