In 2026, Universal Studios (both Hollywood and Orlando) maintains a relatively flexible but specific policy regarding outside food. You are permitted to bring small snacks that do not require heating or refrigeration, and up to 2 liters of bottled water per person (in non-glass containers). Acceptable items include granola bars, trail mix, fruit, and crackers. You can carry these in a standard backpack or a soft-sided insulated bag no larger than 8.5” wide x 6” high x 6” deep. Prohibited items include glass containers, hard-sided coolers, alcohol, and large "picnic-style" meals. For those with medical needs or special dietary requirements (including baby formula), outside food is always allowed, but it is a "best practice" to inform the security team at the X-ray checkpoint. Using a small backpack is recommended as it fits into the complimentary lockers required for many of the high-thrill attractions.
