Start a group order on Uber Eats so everyone can join a shared cart. Using your mobile Uber Eats app, you can choose between paying for everyone's order or splitting the bill, and set a deadline for convenient payment and checkout.
Uber puts a hold on the card before you ever get in. If they calculate your ride to be about a $20 ride they will place an automatic $20-$25 “hold” on your card just to make sure they get paid. They will know right away if your card has insufficient funds.

It's easy to settle your negative balance quickly and you can do this in the Uber Driver app by using M-pesa, Airtel Money, and credit or debit cards. Pay within 2 days of receiving the payment notice to stay on the road and continue earning.
You can add payment methods including credit and debit cards, PayPal, Venmo, digital wallets and Uber gift cards. When a ride ends, your selected payment method is charged. During a ride, use your app to check that your preferred payment method is selected.
Sometimes, an authorization hold doesn't get processed at the same speed as the actual charge, making it appear as though you were charged twice. This does not mean you were charged twice. This is because when you first placed the order, we put a temporary charge, which acts as a hold, with your payment method.
The app will let you cancel an order up until your delivery person is dispatched to the merchant. We can only guarantee a refund if you cancel before the merchant has accepted your order.
If no one picks up your order, you can contact Uber Eats and they'll cancel the order for you and give you a refund. You usually have to wait until it's been a while – i.e. you can't cancel your order if you haven't been waiting very long.
