To download Netflix movies for a plane, you must use the Netflix app on a compatible mobile device, such as a smartphone, tablet, or select Chromebooks. First, ensure you are connected to Wi-Fi, as downloads can be data-intensive. Open the app and look for the "Downloads" icon (an arrow pointing down) on a specific movie or TV episode's description page. Alternatively, you can tap the "Downloads" tab at the bottom of the screen and select "See What You Can Download" to find a list of all available offline content. If you have an ad-supported plan, your downloads are limited to 15 per device per month; ad-free plans allow up to 100. For a "set-it-and-forget-it" approach, you can enable "Downloads for You," which automatically saves titles Netflix thinks you’ll like based on your history. Once on the plane, simply put your device in Airplane Mode, open the Netflix app, go to your Downloads tab, and press play. Note that downloads have an expiration date, often 48 hours after you first press play.
