How do I get silver status on United?

United raised the requirements to earn United elite status starting in 2023. Premier Silver aspirants must fly 12 Premier Qualifying Flights (PQF) and earn 4,000 Premier Qualifying Points (PQP) OR earn 5,000 PQP.

United uses the term program year to refer to the timeline in which your United MileagePlus elite status is valid. The program year with United Airlines runs through Jan. 31 of the following year. Thus, your status is good for the year you earn it, all of the following year and a month into the next year.

To keep your Silver status for the remaining year after the three-month introductory period, you'll need to earn 6,250 MQMs or 8 MQSs, spend $750 MQDs or be eligible for the MQD waiver.
