Each individual rider will only be matched with up to one additional rider, for a total of two riders in the vehicle at once at most. Do I have to use Uber's navigation? You may use your preferred navigation app, but Uber's in-app navigation is highly recommended for UberX Share trips.
You can use the same account on different devices as long as they are both registered in your name. To switch between devices, open the Uber app and go to Menu > Profile > Uber Accounts. You will then see a list of devices that are registered to your account. Tap on the device you want to use and you're good to go!
Request a ride for someone todayNow, when you set the pickup away from your current location, we'll automatically ask whether the ride is for a family member or friend. You can then select the rider from your address book, set their destination, and request the ride on their behalf.
Go to Account and select Settings in the app. Scroll down and tap Family. Tap Add member and select people from your contact list to send them an invitation to join your profile. Please note: you must have the latest version of the app to set up a Family profile.
As outlined in our Community Guidelines, no one other than the requesting rider and the rider's guests are permitted in the vehicle. This means that friends and family of drivers may not ride in their vehicle during a trip. See our Community Guidelines for more details.
Short answer: You can share the driving with someone else, but only if the other driver is a member. Non-members don't have damage and loss protection. If you want to share the driving, your friend can sign up for Uber Carshare.
With Share My Trip, you can let friends and family easily see your trip status and location on the map so that someone you trust always knows where you are.
You can see the person's departure, route and arrival. Trip Tracker is part of Uber's Family Profiles feature, which automatically bills you for the rides of up to 10 people.
