How do I transfer my Emirates miles to a family member?

Skywards Miles can be transferred via the Points Platform from one Eligible Skywards Member to another (“Transfer Miles”) in blocks of 1,000 Miles at a cost of US$15 per 1,000 Miles. The initial minimum purchase required is 2,000 Miles; a member may send and receive a maximum of 50,000 Miles per calendar year.

In 2026, you can transfer your Emirates Skywards miles to a family member or any other member by logging into your account on the Emirates website and visiting the "Buy, Gift, or Transfer Miles" section. However, this is a "paid" service; you will be charged approximately $15 USD for every 1,000 miles you move. A more cost-effective "pro-tip" for families is to set up a "My Family" account. This allows up to eight family members to pool their miles into a single shared balance for free. Once linked, any miles earned by family members are automatically contributed to the pool (you can choose the percentage, from 25% to 100%). This avoids the heavy transfer fees and allows the "Head of Family" to redeem the combined miles for flights or upgrades for anyone in the group. Note that miles already in your individual account before joining the family pool cannot be moved into the pool for free—they must be transferred using the paid method mentioned above.
