How do souvenir cups work at Disneyland?

The refillable souvenir cups at Disney World can and should be reused during your Disney World vacations! Guests are welcome to bring their cups all over Walt Disney World resort, to fill with water while in the parks, or the free refill beverages while at the resorts!

Current policy states that the mug is valid for unlimited refills for the duration of the trip during which the mug was purchased. Note that refillable mugs may not be used in theme park restaurants, water parks, Disney Springs, or any other location that is not a Disney-owned hotel.

When you buy your first mug at your first Disney hotel, it will be activated for a 14-day use from purchase. After that, you have a great souvenir, but it will no longer work at the drink stations. You may need to get another mug after your first fortnight there.
