Gate checking a stroller is a two-step process that begins at the check-in counter or the departure gate. First, you must inform a gate agent that you wish to "gate check" your stroller; they will print a long, adhesive luggage tag containing your flight details and destination. You should affix this tag to a permanent, non-detachable part of the stroller frame—not a removable cup holder or tray. Before boarding, fold your stroller completely and secure any loose straps. When your boarding group is called, leave the tagged stroller at the very end of the jet bridge (the walkway to the plane), just before entering the aircraft door. Baggage handlers will then take it down to the cargo hold. Upon landing, your stroller will typically be brought back up to the jet bridge for you to collect as you disembark.
