Not having a car in Orlando is absolutely fine if your plan is to do Disney-only (better, in fact, as you can avoid rental costs and parking charges at your hotel). However, there are downsides to using the Disney resort transport.

Unfortunately, there isn't a free shuttle from MCO airport to Disney World. There used to be the Magical Express service, but that program was discontinued. You will have to pay for transportation between the Orlando airport and Disney World now, no matter what type you choose.

A lot depends on how much your willing to spend. Depending on the time of the year your going to the theme parks, I'd recommend anything from 5-14 days in the Orlando area. If your going during the Busy Season (Mid-April thru August and Thanksgiving thru New Years) you'll want more time to see everything.

Because the parking lot for Magic Kingdom is actually about a mile away at the Transportation and Ticket Center, it is usually faster to use Disney's transportation. Guests that drive and park must first hop on the monorail or ferry in order to get to the front gates of Magic Kingdom.

If you drive your own vehicle or a rental car, and you aren't staying at a Disney resort, you'll need to pay $25 per day to leave your car in a Disney lot—up to $50 a day if you want a preferred spot closer to the gates. Lyft's app is easier to use We have found the Lyft app to just be a lot easier to use at Walt Disney World than the Uber app. It automatically populates with ALL the approved pick-up and drop-off locations, which is very handy when you are in an unfamiliar spot. Uber doesn't always do that.
