How do you get between palaces in Sintra?

Another bus you can use is the 435. It departs from Sintra station and goes to Sintra's National Palace, Quinta da Regaleira, and Monserrate Palace, before returning to Sintra station. Tickets for both buses can be bought directly from the driver and you only need to pay once for each route per day.

To reach the Palace of Pena, follow the signposted footpath as far as the main entrance to the Park of Pena and then climb to the Palace. This walk takes around 30 minutes.

To reach Quinta da Regaleira from the Sintra train station, take bus 434 to Largo Ferreira Castro. The entrance to the palace is an 8 minute walk up the road from there. Alternatively, you can walk to Quinta da Regaleira. From Sintra train station it's a 22 minute walk, and from Sintra town it's about 15 minutes.

The Villa Sassetti Trail is the main hiking trail connecting the Pena Palace and Moorish Castles to the Old Town of Sintra. The mostly shaded hike starts near the top of the old town and winds through beautiful gardens on a cobblestone walking path and past Villa Sassetti (which isn't yet open to the public).

The Uber will send you to the ticket booth at the Palace entrance ( exactly the same place where the bus will drop you). I don't think any non-Pena Palace car goes beyond that. Inside the palace, you need take a 10 minutes uphill walk to reach the main building ( where your ticket will be checked. again).
