How do you get chewy on the Millennium Falcon?

All you have to do if you're an Engineer or a Gunner is press AND HOLD one of the white buttons directly next to the display. While holding the white button, you can then press your activation button.

Unlocking "Chewbacca Mode" on the Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run attraction at Disney Parks is a secret "Easter Egg" that requires a full crew of six and precise timing. To activate it, the entire group must coordinate their actions before the Cast Member finishes checking seatbelts and clears the cabin for launch. The Pilots must move their joysticks all the way to the left/right or up/down (depending on their side) and hold them there while pressing their activation buttons. Simultaneously, the Gunners and Engineers must press and hold any of the white buttons on their consoles before hitting their main activation buttons. If done correctly, the standard Hondo Ohnaka dialogue will be replaced by the iconic growls and roars of Chewbacca throughout the mission. In 2026, if your group is struggling to hit the window, you can politely ask the loading Cast Member for "Chewie Mode," and they may assist in triggering it manually, though the true thrill for many fans is successfully executing the "secret handshake" with their flight crew.
