As of mid-2024 and continuing into 2026, Disney updated the Disability Access Service (DAS) criteria to focus specifically on guests with developmental disabilities, such as autism or similar conditions, that prevent them from waiting in a conventional queue. While anxiety was historically a common reason for DAS, Disney now directs guests with non-developmental disabilities (like anxiety or mobility issues) toward other accommodations, such as the "Rider Switch" program or sensory break areas. To apply, you must participate in a live video chat with a Cast Member via the Disney website or app between 2 and 30 days before your visit. Be prepared to explain specifically why a standard line environment is unmanageable for the guest; medical notes are not required, but the conversation will focus on the guest's functional needs. If denied DAS, you may still use the "Lightning Lane Multi Pass" system to minimize waits, though this is a paid service.
