How do you get pins at Disney?

Other guests may ask to trade with you, and you can always ask cast members, as well. Certain cast members may have their own individual pin lanyards or be able to direct you to the nearest pin board. With Disney cast members, they will trade any pin that you ask for.

Getting Disney pins for collecting and trading can be done through several channels. The most direct way is to purchase them at retail locations throughout the parks and Disney Springs, such as the Pin Traders shop or the Frontier Trading Post. For those interested in "Pin Trading," you can get pins by trading with Cast Members who wear lanyards or display pin boards; guests can typically trade up to two pins per Cast Member per day. You can also find "Hidden Disney" pins (formerly Hidden Mickeys), which are exclusive pins that can only be found by trading with staff and are not sold in stores. Additionally, Disney releases limited edition and mystery pouch pins throughout the year. In 2026, specialized series like the "Wave A" Hidden Disney pins are highly sought after. To start, many people buy a "starter set" that includes a lanyard and a few pins. It is important to ensure your pins are "Official Disney Pins" (marked with ©Disney on the back) to be eligible for trading with Cast Members.

These pins can be bought in the parks, the Disney outlets, or online. If you buy online, be careful not to buy “fake” Disney pins, which closely resemble real pins. For kids, we recommend buying a starter set of pins.
