How do you get the virgin silver tier?

Flying Club has three member levels within its loyalty program, and members start in the Red tier just for joining Virgin Atlantic Flying Club. After earning 400 tier points, you're upgraded to Silver tier and after 1,000 tier points, you'll reach the Gold tier.

To achieve the Silver tier in the Virgin Atlantic Flying Club in 2026, you must earn 400 Tier Points within a single "membership year" (a rolling 12-month period). Tier Points are distinct from Virgin Points; while Virgin Points are for spending, Tier Points are for status. You earn these points every time you fly with Virgin Atlantic or its partner airlines, with the amount depending on your cabin class and ticket type. For example, a round-trip in Economy might earn fewer points than a single flight in Premium or Upper Class. In addition to standard flying, Virgin Atlantic frequently runs Status Match promotions, such as the February 2026 offer where British Airways "Bronze" members could match directly to Flying Club Silver by simply having a future Virgin flight booked. Once you reach Silver, you unlock perks like Premium check-in, priority boarding, and 30% more bonus Virgin Points on every flight. For those with co-branded Virgin Atlantic credit cards, you can also earn Tier Points through spending—typically 25 Tier Points for every £2,500 spent, which can help bridge the gap to the next status level.
