How do you remember a loved one at Disney?

If your departed loved one was a big Disney fan, perhaps the best way to honor their memory is to live the Disney spirit.
  1. Go on all their favorite rides.
  2. Wear custom tee shirts with the departed favorite phrase.
  3. Purchase a meaningful holiday ornament which will remind you of your loved one as you hang it each year.

Honoring a loved one at Disney World is a common practice for many families, though the parks have strict rules against scattering ashes or leaving permanent physical markers. Popular "official" ways to remember someone include purchasing a personalized "Leave a Legacy" tile at EPCOT or buying a commemorative brick (though the brick program is currently closed for new sales, many still visit existing ones). Many guests choose to wear a special button from Guest Services with the loved one's name, or take a "tribute photo" in front of a favorite attraction or the castle while holding a photo of the deceased. Others perform "Random Acts of Kindness" in their loved one's name, such as buying a treat for a stranger or giving a balloon to a child. Enjoying a meal at the loved one's favorite restaurant or riding their favorite ride is often seen as a deeply personal way to celebrate their memory within the "magic."
