How do you ride the Epcot monorail?

There are two Disney World parks connected by the monorail, and that is EPCOT and Magic Kingdom. Guests can catch a ride to EPCOT by monorail at the Transportation and Ticketing Center at Magic Kingdom. There is also a return station to the Magic Kingdom at EPCOT, too!

To ride the Epcot monorail, you must go to the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC), which serves as the central hub for the Walt Disney World Monorail System. If you are coming from the Magic Kingdom parking lot, the TTC is right there. If you are staying at a monorail resort (Contemporary, Polynesian, or Grand Floridian), you take the "Resort Monorail" to the TTC and then transfer to the Epcot line. The Epcot monorail is famous for its "loop" through the park, providing a spectacular bird's-eye view of Future World and the World Showcase before docking at the station near the main entrance. In 2026, the monorail typically begins operating 30 minutes before Epcot opens and continues until 2 hours after the park closes. It is a completely free service, and you do not need a park ticket just to ride the monorail, though you will obviously need one to enter Epcot once you arrive at the station.

MORE DETAILS

We recommend arriving at Epcot 30 minutes before you're allowed in the park. That's an hour before the scheduled open if you have Early Entry or 30 minutes before scheduled entry if you don't have Early Entry.
