How do you skip the VelociCoaster line?

Use Express Pass As of February 2023, the Jurassic World VelociCoaster is now included in the Universal Express Pass. This means that if you purchase the Universal Express, you can “skip the line.” The express pass cuts wait times in half which can be very helpful if you only have one day at Islands of Adventure.

To skip the long wait for Jurassic World VelociCoaster at Universal Islands of Adventure in 2026, your best option is the Universal Express Pass. Note that this is a separate purchase from your park ticket, unless you are staying at a "Premier" category Universal hotel (like Loews Portofino Bay), which includes it for free. Another "pro" tip is to use the Single Rider Line; while you won't sit with your group, you can often cut a 90-minute wait down to 20 minutes. If you want the absolute fastest access, you can book a Universal VIP Experience, which provides a guided tour and front-of-the-line access to all rides. For those on a budget, "Rope Dropping" (arriving 45 minutes before the park opens) or riding during the final 30 minutes before park close often yields the shortest standby waits. Always use the Universal Orlando app to monitor "Virtual Line" status, as the park occasionally shifts the ride to a reservation-only system during extreme peak periods.
