How do you tip at Disney?

Tips can be left in cash, on a credit card, or on a gift card. You may use your MagicBand to charge the tip as well. The 18% gratuity calculation is normally included on the bottom of the receipt for ease of determining the appropriate tip based on the service.

Tipping at Disney World in 2026 follows standard U.S. hospitality customs but has specific "unwritten" rules for "Cast Members." For table-service restaurants, a tip of 18% to 20% is expected, regardless of whether you are on a Disney Dining Plan. For "Mousekeeping" (housekeeping), it is customary to leave $1 to $5 per day, ideally in a marked envelope so they know it is for them; tipping daily is better than one lump sum since different staff may clean your room each day. Bell Services should receive $1 to $2 per bag handled. However, many frontline Cast Members (like ride operators or those at quick-service counters) are strictly prohibited from accepting cash tips and may even be disciplined if they take them. If you want to recognize them, the "Cast Compliment" feature in the My Disney Experience app is the official and most effective way to help them earn internal recognition and rewards.
