How does Disney early entry work?

Early Entry at the Disneyland Resort Guests who are checked in and staying at one of the Disneyland Resort hotels can enter Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure Park 30 minutes before regular park opening to enjoy select attractions, dining and shopping locations.

As of early 2026, Disney's "Early Entry" policies differ between the Florida and California resorts. At Walt Disney World in Florida, guests staying at Disney Resort hotels (and select partner hotels) can enter any of the four theme parks 30 minutes before the general public every single day. This is a massive perk for "rope-dropping" popular rides like Avatar Flight of Passage or Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. At Disneyland Resort in California, a major change occurred on January 5, 2026: the traditional 30-minute "Early Entry" for hotel guests was discontinued. It has been replaced by a new system where guests staying at the three on-site Disney hotels receive one complimentary Lightning Lane Multi Pass entry per guest, per stay. This allows guests to skip the line for one major attraction of their choice at any time during their visit, rather than getting early park access. In both locations, you must have a valid park admission and stay at a qualifying resort to access these specific benefits. For the most up-to-date daily schedule, guests are encouraged to check the "Hours & Events" section of the My Disney Experience or Disneyland app.
