How does Disney kick people out for special events?

About 30-45 minutes after the start of the event (this is in order to give non-event goers time to finish whatever attraction they're on), the Cast will start clearing their areas, which involves walking around the streets and checking everyone for wristbands.

Attendees can check in at Magic Kingdom one hour before the event starts, so crowds may increase slightly starting around then, but that should be minimal; the presence of this event does not generally impact touring during normal park hours.
