How does the PhotoPass work?

Using Disney PhotoPass Register online to create a Disney account. Link your Disney PhotoPass card to your Disney account. Preview your photos on disneyland.com or with the Disneyland app. Choose any or all of them to purchase as digital downloads, prints or both.

Disney's PhotoPass is a professional photography service that allows guests to get high-quality vacation photos without needing to carry their own cameras. Throughout the parks, Disney-trained photographers are stationed at iconic landmarks (like Cinderella Castle) and character greeting locations. When they take your picture, they scan your MagicBand, MagicBand+, or park ticket, which instantly links the digital image to your "My Disney Experience" account. The service also automatically captures "on-ride" photos and videos on attractions like Space Mountain or Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind using long-range sensors that detect your MagicBand in the ride vehicle. While viewing your photos on the app is free, they will be watermarked unless you purchase a download package. The most common way to "unlock" these photos in 2026 is by purchasing Memory Maker, which provides unlimited downloads of every photo and video taken during your trip. Without a purchase, individual photos typically expire and are deleted from the system 45 days after they are taken.
