The Princess Medallion is a quarter-sized, wearable device that replaces traditional keycards and acts as a personal digital hub for your cruise experience. It uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and Near Field Communication (NFC) to communicate with sensors located throughout the ship. As you approach your stateroom door, the Medallion automatically identifies you and unlocks the door, often displaying a personalized greeting on a screen next to the entrance. It also facilitates TrulyTouchless™ payments; when you buy a drink or a souvenir, the crew member's tablet recognizes your Medallion and photo, eliminating the need to swipe a card or sign a receipt. Through the MedallionClass app, you can use "OceanNow" to order food or drinks to be delivered to your exact location on the ship, as the system tracks your real-time position.
