How early do you have to be on the Long Island ferry?

It is strongly recommended that you arrive at our ferry dock at least thirty (30) minutes in advance of scheduled departure time. Please allow ample time for unanticipated traffic delays, parking, issuance of tickets and boarding the ferry. Tickets are not sold or issued onboard the ferry.
