How fast is Max Force 6 Flags?

This innovative, one-of-a-kind thrill machine uses air-powered technology to launch riders from zero to 78 miles-per-hour in under two seconds, making it the fastest launch of any coaster in North America.

Maxx Force at Six Flags Great America (located in Gurnee, Illinois) is famous for having one of the fastest and most intense launches in North America. The air-powered compressed launch system shoots the train from zero to 78 mph (125 km/h) in an incredible 1.8 seconds. This record-breaking acceleration creates a "seat-plastering" sensation that few other coasters can match. Following the initial launch, the ride immediately enters the world's fastest inversion at 60 mph and continues through a series of high-speed maneuvers, including a 175-foot double-inverting "dog tongue" element. While the total ride duration is relatively short (roughly 25 seconds of high-speed track), the sheer power of the initial zero-to-seventy-eight launch makes it a "Level 5" thrill ride that attracts coaster enthusiasts from around the world looking for the ultimate kick of inertia and speed.
