How formal is formal night on Disney Cruise?

Although Disney Cruise Line offers a formal night, dressing up is not required. If you do want to participate, ladies, I recommend wearing whatever you are comfortable in. I have seen some women dress in sequined gowns, while others wore what looked to be prom dresses.
