Whipsnade Zoo, also owned by ZSL, is the biggest zoo in the UK. You can drive to different sections of the zoo and park there, which is a good option if you're with people with little legs. Or you can hop on the Whipsnade safari bus which makes several stops around the park.
First thing, ZSL Whipsnade is HUGE and there is a LOT of walking involved. We walked about 4 miles and were pretty knackered by the end. Bikes and cycles are not allowed but scooties are, so bring your scooters and buggies and have water and snacks handy. Micro-trikes are available to hire.
