How long can a visitor stay in Ukraine?

You do not need a visa to enter Ukraine for tourism purposes for visits of up to 90 days in any 180 day period, but must be able to provide proof of valid health insurance and sufficient funds for the duration of your stay.

In 2026, the standard stay duration for most international visitors to Ukraine is 90 days within a 180-day period. This applies to citizens of countries with visa-free regimes, such as the United States, Canada, the European Union, and the United Kingdom. For Indian citizens, a temporary visa-free regime was extended through early 2026, also allowing for 90-day stays for tourism or business. If you are entering on an e-Visa, the stay is typically limited to 30 days (single or double entry). To calculate your remaining time, you must look back at the last 180 days from any given date to ensure your total days spent in Ukraine do not exceed 90. Despite the ongoing conflict and martial law in 2026, the borders remain open for essential travel and tourism in safer regions like Lviv and the Carpathian Mountains. Visitors must present a valid passport (valid for 3 months beyond the stay), proof of health insurance that covers "war risks," and evidence of sufficient funds (approx. $50 USD per day) to Ukrainian border guards upon entry.
