On the final day of a Carnival cruise, you generally cannot stay on the ship for more than 2 to 3 hours after it docks. Most ships dock around 6:00 AM or 7:00 AM, and the "Turnaround Day" schedule is extremely tight. You are typically required to vacate your stateroom by 8:00 AM or 8:30 AM so that the cabin stewards can clean and prepare the room for the next set of guests arriving in just a few hours. After leaving your room, you can wait in the public lounges or the Lido Deck for your "Luggage Tag" number to be called, but everyone is expected to be off the ship by 10:00 AM or 10:30 AM. The atmosphere on the final morning is significantly different from the rest of the cruise; service is scaled back, and the crew is under immense pressure to achieve a "Zero Count" (where every passenger has scanned out) so the ship can be cleared by Customs and Border Protection. Once that zero count is reached, boarding for the new passengers begins almost immediately, meaning there is no "late checkout" option available.
