The Electric Conveyance Vehicles (ECVs) or mobility scooters available for rent at the Disneyland Resort are designed to last for a full day of typical theme park use (approximately 8 to 12 hours) on a single charge. Most professional-grade rental scooters used in the parks are equipped with heavy-duty deep-cycle batteries that provide a range of about 10 to 15 miles, which is more than enough to cover the average 6 to 9 miles a guest might "drive" between Disneyland and Disney California Adventure. However, the actual battery life can be affected by several factors: the weight of the rider, the amount of time spent driving up inclines (like the ramps in parking structures), and whether the scooter is left "on" while stationary. To ensure you don't run out of power, it is recommended to turn the key to the "off" position whenever you are parked for a show or a meal. If you do notice the battery meter dipping into the red, you can visit the Stroller and Wheelchair Rental locations near the park entrances, where Cast Members can often swap your scooter for a freshly charged one or provide a temporary charging cable if you are dining at a table-service restaurant.
