World of Hyatt elite status (Discoverist, Explorist, or Globalist) typically lasts from the moment you earn it through February of the second calendar year following your qualification. For example, if you reach the 60-night requirement for Globalist in June 2026, you will hold that status for the remainder of 2026, all of 2027, and through February 28, 2028. This "grace period" in the beginning of the year allows travelers time to re-qualify or for their new status to be processed. If you fail to re-qualify during the 2027 calendar year, your status will drop to the next lower tier (or base member) on March 1, 2028. An exception exists for those with the World of Hyatt Credit Card, which grants automatic Discoverist status as long as the account is open. Additionally, "Lifetime Globalist" status is granted once a member earns 1,000,000 base points, which never expires. This long duration makes Hyatt's program one of the more generous for frequent travelers who want to enjoy their hard-earned perks for an extended period.
