If you have not purchased a download or a product like Memory Maker within this window, the photos are permanently deleted from the system. It is important to link your photos to your Disney account as soon as possible to ensure the countdown is accurate. If you find yourself nearing the expiration date and need more time to decide, Disney often offers a one-time 15-day extension for a small fee, which can be purchased through the PhotoPass section of the website. Once you have purchased and downloaded the photos, or if you have an active Memory Maker entitlement, you can save them to your personal devices indefinitely. However, the online gallery is not intended for long-term storage, and Disney does not offer a way to recover images once the 45-day (plus extension) period has lapsed, so prompt downloading is highly recommended.

Now, to activate your Memory Maker, simply open any of your Disney PhotoPass photos and start the download process. Downloading a picture is actually what officially activates the product. You will then have 30 days from the time of that first download to keep adding photos before your Memory Maker will expire.
