How long does Disney character dining last?

How long do character meals take? You'll want to budget about 90 minutes (plus travel time) for your meal. That gives you time to check in, be seated, and then time to eat and see all the characters without racing through anything.

A typical Disney character dining experience in 2026 usually lasts between 60 and 90 minutes. This timeframe is designed to ensure that you have enough time to enjoy your multi-course meal (or visit the buffet several times) while ensuring that every featured character makes it to your table at least once. The "rotation" of characters is carefully managed by Disney "character attendants" who guide the performers through the dining room. Usually, you will see 4 to 5 different characters during your meal. To maximize your time, it is recommended to have your autograph books and cameras ready on the table so you don't miss a character while they are passing by. If you arrive late for your reservation, your time may be truncated to maintain the restaurant's flow. While you aren't strictly "kicked out" after 90 minutes, the servers will typically present the check once the final character has visited your table. If you are dining at a high-demand location like Cinderella’s Royal Table or Chef Mickey’s, expect the pace to be efficient but friendly to accommodate the thousands of guests waiting for their turn to meet the "Big Cheese."
