How long does Emirates status last?

Once you have reached a new tier, you have 12 months to earn the Tier Miles you need to keep your status.

In 2026, Emirates Skywards status (Silver, Gold, or Platinum) typically lasts for a fixed period of 12 months from the date you achieved or renewed it. During this one-year "assessment period," you must earn the required number of Tier Miles or take the necessary qualifying flights to retain your status for the following year. For example, if you reach Gold status on June 10, 2025, you will enjoy those benefits until June 30, 2026. If you fail to meet the renewal criteria by your assessment date, you will be "soft-landed" to the tier below. It is a supportive 2026 tip to remember that while Skywards Miles (spendable points) are valid for three years, your Tier status is a "use it or lose it" benefit that requires consistent loyalty. Platinum members in 2026 also enjoy a "Platinum tier spouse" benefit, effectively extending top-tier perks to a partner for the duration of the member's own status year.
