You must apply onlineIf you are a third level Student (16-18 or 24+) you will need show your Student ID and a valid proof of age ID at the nearest Student Leap Card agent to collect your card, after you have applied online.
Paying with cash: An exact fare system is operated by Dublin Bus and only coins (not notes) are accepted. No change is given. Prepaid tickets: You can also pay your fare with a prepaid ticket. Magnetic prepaid tickets must be inserted into the bus validator when boarding.
TFI Leap Card can be used on all scheduled Bus Éireann services including city, town, commuter, stage carriage and Expressway services. Leap Card fares on Bus Éireann are 30% cheaper than cash single fares, except on Expressway where the Leap Card fare is the same as cash.
