How long does it take to change your companion pass?

Any reservation with your current designated Companion must be canceled before changing your designated Companion. To change your Companion, you must call 1-800-435-9792. Please allow up to 21 business days for processing.



For Southwest Airlines Companion Pass holders, changing your designated companion is a relatively quick process, but it requires careful timing. You are allowed to change your companion up to three times per calendar year. While you can designate a new person online via your Rapid Rewards account or the Southwest app almost instantly, the airline recommends allowing up to 48 hours for processing.
