How long does it take to hike to Delicate Arch for sunrise?

It will take most people 2 to 3 hours to hike to and back from Delicate Arch, but only you will know your pace. Also, plan for at least a 30-minute drive from Moab to the trailhead. Pack appropriately– If you are going to be hiking for sunrise, be sure to bring a headlamp and batteries.

Yes, you may enter the park before 7 am or after 4 pm. Because entrance lines into the park may vary, we suggest arriving at 6:30 am or earlier.

There is a long section of open slickrock about halfway into the hike. There are cairns that guide the way up to Delicate Arch. Do be aware that when you get close to the Arch there is a 4 or 5 foot wide ledge with a significant drop-off. If you have a fear of heights that part of the hike can be scary.

Primitive Trail at Devil's Garden This is the longest and most challenging continually maintained trail in Arches National Park. After reaching Landscape Arch the trail gets a little more rugged as you climb over sandstone slabs and walk on narrow ledges and exposed fins.
