How long does it take to walk from Heathrow Express to Terminal 3?

The Heathrow Express station is close to T3. Once you start down the ramp to the inter-terminal walkway it's only about 2 minutes to the station entrance. Add a couple more minutes to get from Arrivals to that ramp, plus 2-4 minutes to reach the platforms by lift or escalators.

The walk from the Heathrow Express platforms (located at the "Heathrow Central" station) to Terminal 3 takes approximately 10 to 12 minutes. Once you disembark the train, you must travel up several levels of escalators or elevators to reach the inter-terminal pedestrian walkways. The path is clearly marked with overhead signs for Terminal 2 and Terminal 3. For Terminal 3 specifically, there is a series of moving walkways (travelators) that help speed up the journey through the underground tunnels. If you have significant luggage or are traveling with small children, you should budget at least 15 minutes to ensure you reach the check-in area without rushing. In 2026, helpful "wayfinding" staff are stationed along the route to ensure passengers do not accidentally wander toward the Elizabeth Line or Underground platforms, which are located in the same general central hub.
